First graders celebrated Thanksgiving last week by learning about why Thanksgiving is celebrated. Students made a Thankful Turkey with feathers that listed things they were thankful for.
The celebration culminated with special treats and listening to classmates share about a special person. Happy (late) Thanksgiving!

Third grade science with Mrs. Atkinson got to have special guest, Zoe’s pony, “Panda” in yesterday! She was our lovely model while discussing genetic and environmental traits today. I believe Panda may need a part time job here patrolling carline Officer Long!
High school boys showed off their basket-weaving skills from art class!
Dr. Hammerschmidt’s first grade class and Mrs. Gray’s third grade class collaborated with Dr. Chloe Bolyard and Dr. Fogle’s ELE410 class. It is a university education class where the university students teach and make lesson plans for the Greenwood first and third grade classes.
Fourth graders got the opportunity to go underground!! Surrounded by limestone pillars, they learned about how limestone is mined and warehouses are created in Springfield Underground for storage.

Greenwood Blue Jays were in the MSU Homecoming Parade! This was their first time under Dr. Slater's direction that the band has been a part of the MSU Homecoming parade. They did such a good job! Go Blue Jays!
