Kai Schaefer earned a bronze (3rd place) medal and three 4th place finishes at the International Geography Championships (IGC) held in Vienna, Austria, July 13 to July 20. The week-long IGC is a bi-annual competition that brings together top geography students from around the world. Representing the state of Missouri and Greenwood, Kai competed in many events against 90 IGC high schoolers and finished in the top 10 seven times and top five four times, including placing in the three country geography exams offered - Slovak (3rd Place), Austrian (4th Place), Hungarian (6th Place); making the finals in three buzzer-based quiz events – Scramble, Visual Geography Bee, Blitz; and placing in one other event - Geoguessr (4th Place). According to Kai, “I got to know a lot of amazing people. It was an extremely memorable experience and so much fun!”

7th graders Adelaide Cimino, Grace Geisler, Addi Newman and Grace Yen have been working hard this summer on their Civitas Hours for the upcoming school year. Between the 4 of them they've accumulated 56 hours prepping and making costumes for the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades musical performances for this coming year. Mrs. Garrison really appreciates all their help.
