
April 28th at 5:00 PM is "Friday Night Lights at the Ballfield" at the Home Baseball Game! As the Bluejays take on the Dadeville Bearcats, students can enjoy a free hamburger or hotdog. Come show your Bluejay pride and cheer on Greenwood Baseball!


Matthew Whitworth represented Greenwood this past Saturday at the Mathleague State Finals in Columbia, MO! There were 79 students from 16 schools who competed at the state level.
Matthew finished:
- 5th place in 10th grade Target
- 3rd place in 10th grade Sprint
- 4th place in 10th grade Individual
Great job Matthew!


Greenwood High School Students William Chenevert, Allie Foresee, and Mollie Scher, sang back up at Ozarks Lyric Opera concert on Friday - called Opera Rocks. Great job Bluejays, YOU rock!

April 21st was National Kindergarten Day! It commemorated the birthday of an educator who founded the first kindergarten in Germany in 1837. Greenwood kindergartners celebrated with special reading and writing activities, decorating “K” cookies, and more!







Third Graders had their Night of Notables event last week, and it was a huge hit! Thank you, parents, for your support and dedication to this Greenwood tradition!




Congratulations to Coach Mike Percival. It’s official! He is a member of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame!



The 7th Graders took a trip to the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City this week! They visited some historic locations, as well as got a chance to sit in the Governor's Oval Office. What an awesome trip!

Third grade students worked very hard at mastering their multiplication facts 0-12. For each one they mastered, they earned an item towards their ice cream sundae. We celebrated last week! Can you say, ICE CREAM?!



Yesterday, Greenwood International Culture Club (ICC) held a Culture Fair for all students and staff! There were many different countries represented, as well as a variety of cultural groups. Students were able to participate in activities related to each country, as well as try some traditional food. This was a great representation of one of the Missouri State Pillars: Cultural Competence!

Greenwood Elementary Students put on an AMAZING performance in their program Oceans of Fun. We saw sea turtles, jellyfish, octopi, lobsters, and dolphins; oh my! Thank you to our awesome Music Director, Jacqua Garrison, and all of the hard work she has put in to make this program a success. Great job to all of our Greenwood Sea Creatures!

On April 5, twenty Greenwood students competed in the 51st annual Pummill Math Relays at Missouri State University! This year, approximately 400 students represented 23 schools from across the state competing in a variety of team and individual events. The Algebra 1 team, consisting of Sophia Assmann, Elif Benzer, Taaha Khan, and Elyse Metzelthin, earned SECOND PLACE recognition in our division. The Geometry team, consisting of Corbin Collins, Laila Ozturk, Abby Ryan, and Zain Saquer, earned THIRD PLACE recognition in our division. The Algebra 2 team, consisting of Jesse Davies, Taewoo Lee, Kai Schaefer, and Anya Soni, earned FIRST PLACE recognition in our division and FIRST PLACE recognition out of all participating schools! The 4th Year Mathematics team, consisting of William Chenevert, Joaquin Parada, Matthew Whitworth, and Nathan Wu, earned FIRST PLACE recognition in our division.
In addition to the team events, we had several students place in the individual competitions! In the individual competitions, students compete head-to-head against approximately 50 students from across the state. Joaquin Parada earned THIRD PLACE and Hursh Patel earned FIFTH PLACE in a Geometry individual competition. Matthew Whitworth earned THIRD PLACE and Nathan Wu earned FIFTH PLACE in a 4th Year Mathematics individual competition. And Matthew Whitworth earned FIRST PLACE and Nathan Wu earned SECOND PLACE recognition in a Mathematical Reasoning individual competition, where emphasis was placed on solving unique and challenging problems!
Mrs. Burch & Mr. Anderson are extremely proud of all of the students who participated in the Pummill Math Relays. Congratulations Greenwood Mathletes!


Fourth Grade took a field trip to the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City!


Maria’s mom, Sara, read First Graders the book "Ilyas & Duck and the Fantastic Festival of Eid-al-Fitr" and answered student’s questions about Eid-al-Fitr! Students learned that giving Zakat is when money is given to help those less fortunate and in need. Sara shared about having compassion for others, for family, and the importance of friendship. Thank you for sharing with our students, Sara!





Dr. Matt McKay (Lucy’s dad and a geology professor at MSU) visited Kindergarten last week and taught students about rocks, minerals, fossils, and DINOSAURS. Thank you Dr. McKay for your lesson, it was a ROARing success!
